Built Once. Create Often.
At BOCO Custom we design gear for people who actually use it. Our Klein MODbox Mounting Plates follow that same simple rule: built right the first time so you can do your work without fuss. If you’re already running our DeWalt ToughSystem or Milwaukee Packout plates, the MODbox plate gives you the same fit, finish, and durability — but built to pair with Klein Tools’ MODbox system.
What Makes the BOCOs MODBox Plate Different
- Material: Laser-cut from 10-gauge steel for rigidity that won’t flex or twist under load. Prevents boxes from rattling.
- Precision fit: Cut to align with Klein MODbox clips and brackets for rock-solid engagement.
- Finishes: Raw steel or powder-coat black— plus custom color options on request.
- Mounting-ready: Pre-drilled holes and standard spacing for quick installs on van panels, shop walls, and workstations.
The result: a plate that behaves like part of the MODbox system, not an afterthought.
Real Community Feedback
We don’t rely on marketing claims — we listen to the people who use our stuff. Since launching the MODbox plate, installers and trades have shared installs and feedback across social platforms and forums.
Facebook: builders and van conversion owners have posted full wall builds showing BOCO plates lined up with MODbox rails and accessories. See community photos and conversations on our Facebook page: facebook.com/BocoCustom.
Reddit: members of r/Tools, r/Electricians, and van-build communities have been sharing install shots and tips — many calling the BOCO MODbox plate “the missing piece Klein didn’t ship.” You can view user posts and discussions by searching Reddit for “BOCO MODbox” or visiting the communities that focus on trade van builds: reddit.com/search/?q=BOCO+ModBox.

How BOCO Stacks Up
Here’s the quick comparison so you don’t have to guess when you’re buying for a van or shop build:
| Feature | BOCO MODbox Plate | Typical Generic Mount |
|---|---|---|
| Steel thickness | 10-gauge (laser-cut) | 12–14 gauge (stamped) |
| Fit to MODbox | Precision CNC-laser tolerances | Often loose or requiring modification |
| Finish options | Powder-coat / raw steel / custom | Basic paint or unfinished |
| Community support | Active install threads + photos | Minimal / none |
Installation — Simple and Expandable
We designed the plate to be install-friendly: line it up with your van stud or shop backing, use common fasteners, and you’re done. The pre-drilled pattern works with standard bolts for metal or wood backing. Start with one plate, add more as you build out your wall — the modular nature of MODbox means you can reconfigure without major rework.
Tools you’ll need: level, drill, appropriate fasteners (self-tapping sheet metal screws or carriage bolts into backing), and a friend if the plate is large.
