Real Mounting Plates for DEWALT ToughSystem 2.0 and DXL: Low Profile for Trucks, Vans and ATVs

DEWALT ToughSystem boxes are great until you try to fasten them down. In a truck bed, a van or on an ATV, an unsecured stack slides, rattles and eventually ends up on the floor. DEWALT's own answer is a bulky rack. We built a different answer: a real, low-profile mounting plate that the box slides onto and latches into. As far as we know, we are the only company making one for the ToughSystem line.

The problem: no good way to mount ToughSystem boxes

• The factory option is a rack. The DEWALT DWST08260 rack is a larger fixed-arm system. In a tight truck bed or van, there is no room for it.
• Clearance is tight. Tonneau covers, bed rails and low-roof vans leave almost no vertical room, and every extra inch of mount costs you that room.
• Vibration shakes loose anything flimsy. Printed plastic brackets and thin plates flex and crack on rough roads and off-road trails.
• Security. A box that slides off the mount can be taken as easily.

The fix: a real mounting plate, built ultra low profile

Our ToughSystem plates are laser-cut in Apple Valley, California and only about half an inch tall. The box slides on and the latch engages. Lift the release lever with one hand to take it off. A locking hole accepts a standard padlock (not included). Because the plates sit so low, they work where a rack can't: under tonneau covers, in low-clearance truck beds and in vans where every inch counts.

They are in daily use on ATVs, garage walls, the back of work trucks, the trunk of an electric SUV and even a video drone production van.

ToughSystem 2.0 Mounting Plate: steel or aluminum

For standard ToughSystem 2.0 boxes (not ToughSystem 1.0 or DXL). 21.25" × 15.75" × 0.5", sized for 16" stud spacing. It mounts to a wall or floor with 5/16" bolts or 1/4" lag screws (hardware not included).

• 10-gauge steel: textured black powder coat, 100 lb wall / 300 lb floor. An optional gold badge is available. Best for work trucks, trailers and anything that takes a beating.
• 1/8" aluminum: half the weight, uncoated and paint ready, 50 lb wall / 150 lb floor. Best when weight matters.

DXL Mounting Plate: the floor plate for the big box

The DXL box is the heaviest in the line, so it gets a heavier plate. Our DXL plate is 12-gauge steel with a textured black powder coat, 29.25" × 21.5" × 0.6", and rated for 300 lb on a floor mount. It has the same one-handed latch release and a padlock hole. It is made for floor mounting only and fits the DXL footprint only.

Battery holder: Slide-In for DEWALT 20V MAX

Our 5-slot 14-gauge steel battery organizer holds DEWALT 20V MAX batteries, including XR and FlexVolt packs, in the Slide-In version. The same version also takes Milwaukee M18, so mixed-brand crews can share one holder. It measures 18.25" × 6.25" × 3-3/16" and is low profile enough for under cabinets, van interior panels and tool carts.

Which one do you need?

Frequently asked questions

Will it fit under my tonneau cover?
The plates are about half an inch tall, which is why customers use them where racks won't fit. Measure your clearance with the box on the plate before you order.

Does it fit ToughSystem 1.0 boxes?
No. The 2.0 plate is made for the ToughSystem 2.0 footprint, and the DXL plate for DXL.

Is hardware included?
No. Mounting surfaces vary, so choose hardware that suits your install.
